Disappointing Yellow Watermelon

Yellow Watermelon

We finally tried the yellow watermelon we grew in our front yard. My mother said the watermelon would be ready after 45 days. Sufian harvested the watermelon and we chilled it in water before eating it.

I have to say, the flavor was very underwhelming. It wasn’t very sweet and instead it tasted more like a sweet cucumber. As it was described on the seed packet, the skin was thin and easily cracked.

Suffice to say, I think I am going to start growing red watermelon from now on. The front yard planter receives lots of sunlight and it turned out to be a great location for growing watermelon. I might try growing watermelon again next year, but next time, I will make sure to choose a nice red and sweet variety!
